Short Escape to Way Kambas National Park

Two weeks in radiology station makes my free time is more longer than others.
So we have a plan to spend our weekend together in Way Kambas National Park.

Actually, we had planned this trip since 3 years ago when we were still being college students, but some people (especially our friends-who live in Lampung) who had visited Way Kambas said that the journey was too far and nothing special there. Out of the expectation, they said.
So we were thinking twice to go there, moreover we thought that the roads might be poor or bad.

Yesterday, my friends and I went to Way Kambas with Nindri and family (They live in Metro)
Nindri has an uncle whom works in Way Kambas National Park, precisely in the Suaka Rhino.
It is so glad to know that we can enter non-public area, it is Suaka Rhino (Rhino Conservation)

We were ready to go since 06.00 a.m and Nindri and family had arrived in Edotel (tempat kos kami),
then we (Desti, Ghea, Farida, Idzni, and Me) went together to pick Ratna up. She had a night shift yesterday.
Unfortunately, Hani, Ade, and Ine can't join us because they had a morning shift.

We really enjoyed our journey. We had a talk, laugh, listen to music, sing together, record the moments, and eating.
We arrived at Nindri’s uncle home at 08.30 a.m, then picked them up and continued our journey.

We arrived at Way Kambas National Park at 09.30 a.m.
We bought bananas for feeding the animals like monkey and elephant.
Our first destination was Suaka Rhino. We passed through the forest to reach it.
We were so happy to feel the fresh air on the forest atmosphere. We were really glad to hear chirping of birds and crickets.

Our next destination was Elephant Conservation.
We passed through the road that many of wild and free monkeys around so we fed them bananas.
In the Elephant Conservation, we were having a lunch first then went to locket that sold ticket for riding elephant.
We spent almost all the time there.
We rode the elephants around the arena, fed them, played with them, and also took many pictures.
I felt so excited and happy for my first time riding the elephant.

My first time riding the Elephant

It is 12.00 a.m and we went to the mosque for praying zhuhur.
Our next destination was the elephant hospital.
We passed through the savana to reach it. We saw free and wide elephants around.

In the Elephant Hospital

It is 14.30 am we intended to play around the savana.
When we had just got off from the car, Farida and me directly ran fast on to some elephants when a man shouted and clapped his hands “Hey. It is dangerous. The elephants can run in to you”
While we were turning back to the cars to find a bare place to take the pictures, the rain poured down.
Finally, we decided to went back home. Because Farida had have a night shift tonight.
The scenery when we went back home as beautiful as when we went there.
All praises be to Allah for His incredibly beautiful creations.
